Sony’s approach to 3D involves alternately displaying images for the left eye and right eye at a high frame rate.
DirecTV 3D – Recently made increasingly popular after the release of the movie Avatar, DirecTV has announced that they will be launching three different 3D channels in June. The first channels that the satellite TV company will be offering include ESPN 3D, movies on demand, as well as a different pay per view channel. The move has long been rumored, and the recent release and announcement of several different three dimensional televisions is further proof that 3D is the direction that television will be heading in the future. Later this week, the New York Rangers and Islanders hockey game will air live in 3D as well.
